Where it all begins
Brad began his musical career in 1976 playing with a band
called "Tricks" on "The Strip" in Knoxville, Tennessee. The lead
singer of the band became a well-known singer named Rex Smith.
Brad moved to Houston in 1978 and joined a band DWO, playing
guitar and using his talent as a singer as well. They played in
such places as Whiskey River, The Old Plantation, The Alley, and
The Limit. |
| DWO eventually changed their name to "DAMASCUS" and opened up
a 7000 SQ. FT. club in Huffman, Texas with 97 Rock and also
sponsored by Lone Star beer, Tony's Pizza and others. Damascus
went on the road with such musicians as Jim Dandy (Black Oak
Arkansas) and Leslie West (The Round Mound of Sound). |
| In 1985, Brad joined several very talented musicians and began
"Excalibur". Cardi's, Rockers, Struts, Fitzgeralds and
Rockafellers are just a few of the clubs Excalibur has enjoyed
playing. They have backed up big bands also. Point blank, Pat
Travers, Thin Lizzy, Quiet Riot, and Ratt are on that list. |

Axe and its new beginning!
In 2004, Brad was asked to take the position of road
manager for Blackfoot. Having become good friends with Bobby
Barth, the two would begin planning the transition and
rebirth of Axe. |
|
Brad has toured with Pat Travers, Greg T. Walker (Blackfoot
and Lynyrd Skynyrd - played on 1st & last album) and Simon
Wright (UFO, Dio, & AC/DC). Jam sessions with Pat,
Simon and Greg T. in Brad's music studio at his home are
among his favorite memories. |
